Terms & Conditions
Thorpe Carpentry & Joinery – Customer Policy
To ensure clarity and fairness for both our clients and our team, the following terms apply to all bookings and commissioned work:
1. Booking & Deposits
A deposit is required to secure all bookings. This confirms your place in our schedule and allows us to prepare materials in advance.
Deposits are non-refundable but transferable if the booking is rescheduled within a reasonable time.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We kindly ask that any cancellations or rescheduling be made at least 24 hours in advance of the agreed start time.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a cancellation fee of up to 25% of the job value, to cover lost time and expenses.
In the case of larger projects, cancellations made within 7 days of the start date may be subject to further charges, particularly where materials have already been purchased.
3. Changes to Work Scope
Any significant changes to the original agreed work (designs, materials, or scale) must be discussed and approved in writing before work continues.
Additional costs may apply where changes are requested after work has begun.
4. Access & Site Readiness
Please ensure safe and reasonable access to the site on the agreed dates.
If the workspace is not ready (e.g. cluttered, inaccessible, or unsafe), we reserve the right to postpone work and charge for lost time.
5. Payment Terms
Invoices will be issued as agreed per project (either upon completion or in staged payments for larger jobs).
Final payment is due within 2 days of completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late payments may incur interest or further delay the scheduling of any additional works.
6. Communication
We aim to keep all clients updated on scheduling, delivery, and progress. In return, we appreciate prompt responses to queries or confirmations so we can keep everything moving smoothly.
7. Warranty & Aftercare
We stand by the quality of our work. If any issues arise due to workmanship, we’re happy to return and resolve them within a reasonable period after completion.
This does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or alterations made by others.
By confirming a booking with Thorpe Carpentry & Joinery, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
